Her face may be her fortune, but I suspect former Corrie beauty Michelle Keegan wants to emulate the success of former Street stars Sarah Lancashire, Katherine Kelly and Suranne Jones in building her acting career.

Michelle obviously saw the role of (newly promoted Sergeant) Georgie Lane, an army medic, as a career stepping stone, and after two series of Our Girl she marches off into the sunset (well, into Sky comedy series Brassic in fact!). So, her finale opens with Georgie enjoying the family hi-jinks at her sister’s wedding in Manchester until a near-fatal incident brings Georgie’s PTSD to a head, and when her replacement in the field Mimi (Amy-Leigh Hickman) is struggling without her, Georgie decides to face her fears by returning to Afghanistan and all the bad memories of the death of her fiancé Elvis, on their last tour of duty. I’d imagine someone as glamorous as Georgie - even in camouflage ‘war paint’ she still looks good - would be a bit of a distraction for her male comrades, but let’s face it Our Girl is a soap at heart with some action sequences and

BLOOD: SERIES 2 Acorn, cert 15

DVD 2-disc set £24.99 Adrian Dunbar’s great playing guys with a hint of a dark side, as Line of Duty fans know.

He returns in Channel 5’s Irish drama as disgraced doctor Jim Hogan who stood trial a year before for killing his wife, a motor neurone disease sufferer. Now he’s reduced to labouring on the farm where son-in-law Paul (Ian Lloyd Anderson) works. But, the series opens with Jim’s daughter Fiona (Grainne Keenan) crashing her car at dead of night into deep water. The events leading up to this make for a twist-packed domestic thriller from creator

Sophie Petzal who loves leading her audience a merry dance.

There seem to be many questions without obvious exotic locations. It doesn’t even pretend to be as seriously believable in it’s Afghanistan situations as Homeland for instance. But, it delivers what fans want..a feisty heroine, male banter, and the possibility of a new romance amidst the firefights, suicide bombings, and heroics from our Georgie. Fans will miss her.
