Stanley warm up by hitting seven past Leeds!
Accrington Stanley warmed up for the visit of Posh with a 7-0homehammeringofLeeds United Under 21s in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday night.
Stanley’s latest loan signing Tariq Uwakwe from Chelsea struck a debut hat-trick in a game against a Leeds team madeupentirelyofteenagers.
Uwakwe is a winger who has been at Stamford Bridge since he was eight. This is his first loan move.
“Pre-season hasn’t been ideal and we’re still trying to get ourselves tip top,” Accrington manager John Coleman said.
“A lot of our lads haven’t played 90 minutes so the Leedsgamewasimportantfor them. Our prime focus has alwaysbeenSaturday, butIliked what I saw against Leeds.
“Uwake was outstanding. Hewaswillingtocrosstheball early a lot of the time and as striker that’s a dream, as was the quality he was putting in.”

But Coleman has been active in the loan market bringing in Mohammed Sangare and Tom Allan from Newcastle and Ryan Cassidy from Wolves as well as Uwakwe.
