The Vaccines keep on jabbing away with fifth album

- Back In Love City (AWAL Recordings) Album BY NIGEL THORNTON

British rockers The Vaccines are back with a bang on their excellent fifth album Back In Love City.

Since their debut album – the acclaimed What Did You Expect From The Guitars? – they have sold more than two million records worldwide establishing themselves as one of this country’s top guitar bands with a reputation as a superb live outfit.

The band – Justin Young (vocals, guitar), Freddie Cowan (guitar, vocals), Árni Árnason (bass, vocals), Tim Lanham (keyboards) and Yoann Intoni (drums) – are on top of their game with Back In Love City.

Inspired by fictional cities – from Ridley Scott’s version of LA in Blade Runner to Cowboy Beebop’s Fear City – as much as places like Las Vegas, Tijuana and Tokyo, frontman Justin Young imagined The Vaccines as the house-band in Love City, a place where safety, solace and satisfaction are on offer as much as love. A place where mental and physical pleasure is for sale and where nobody has to be alone.

The idea has motivated Young to pen some of the most vibrant and thrilling songs of his career.

From the title track and current single Headphones Baby to Jump Off The Top and Bandit there’s a thrilling swagger to every track.

Each of their four albums so far have charted in the Top five in the UK, surely they will make that five out of five.

To be in with a chance of winning this album answer this question: For which movie did the band record a song with Kylie Minogue?
