Sportscar manufacturer helps to accelerate region’s growth
An innovative Peterborough company has launched a new initiative to power the growth of local enterprise.
Radical Sportscars, based in Ivatt Way, Westwood, was invited to lead the way with an online talk series delivered by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority’s Growth Works service.
Hitesh Katechia, chief financial officer of Radical, which is the largest producer of racing and track cars – selling more than 2,000 cars globally in the past two decades - delivered the first talk. He said: “We, as businesses, can only get better by being open and honest about the failures as well as the successes, and share our learnings so we don’t waste time reinventing the wheel as we scale our businesses.” He explained the challenges with scaling operations to meet production demands, building a skilled workforce and getting into new geographical markets as the company accelerated its growth.
Nigel Parkinson, non-executive chairman of the Business Growth Company, which oversees the Growth Works service, said: “This is a great opportunity to learn from one of our region’s most interesting and exciting enterprises and a chance to feel even more a part of this great business community we have in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.”
The Business Leader Talk series is open to all businesses across the region. It aims to place the spotlight on the challenges that are faced by managers growing a successful business in the region and help trigger new thinking. For more details visit: www. growthworkscoaching.uk
