Staff at a leading Peterborough employer have been celebrating after completing their two-year apprenticeship programmes.

Following their success, the 10 apprentices at BGL Insurance have all progressed to permanent positions in the business.

The apprentices – ranging from school leavers through to senior managers – enjoyed a virtual celebration with members of the BGL Insurance executive board, with all of them being sent a gift voucher to mark the occasion.

The latest cohort, despite navigating their courses during the pandemic, have all passed with strong results.

Ellie Evans, director of people and communications at BGL Insurance, said: “Our apprenticeship programmes, led by our in-house academy team, have continued to go from strength to strength and we are all extremely proud of the hard work and dedication our apprentices have shown this year, particularly in such unusual circumstances.

“Investing in our colleagues and helping them to drive their careers forward is something we are extremely passionate about, with many of our previous cohorts going on to enjoy varied roles right across the business.

“Our academy team is always looking at new ways to evolve our programmes and so I am looking forward to getting the new cohort onboard later this year – with opportunities for school leavers right through to postgraduate apprenticeships for senior managers.”

Since the launch of the BGL Academy in 2017, more than 350 apprentices have taken up qualifications in various areas of the business from customer services to IT and finance.
