The Peterborough Evening Telegraph
It’s been my huge privilege to edit the PT
This week’s PT is my last as editor.
After 15 years I am moving to a new role in the company and while I am looking forward to that, I can’t pretend that leaving the top team at Telegraph Towers won’t be a huge wrench.
Life on the PT is incredibly busy for all of us... long and unsociable hours are the norm.
But it is also an absolutely fantastic job. There is never a dull moment, always a challenge to face, and we meet and work with so many great people across the city.
We have campaigned on many issues, often with great success. Ones that stick in the memory include the St Michael’s Gate investigation, the new bridge over the Nene campaign, the recent Peterborough Unlimited campaign and the great success with the spotlight on IVF provision.
There are too many people I would like to thank for their encouragement, support, and in many cases, having the courage to speak up on challenging topics and events in their local paper. I would like to thank every single one of our readers of the paper and our website – your support, engagement and reaction make it all worthwhile. I’d also like to thank all of the local businesses who advertise with us and support us in so many ways from donations to good causes to sponsoring our Business, Pride and Apprenticeship Awards. And finally I’d like to say a huge thank you to my team at the PT, past and present. People often don’t realise the hours they put in to make sure stories are broken and local people are heard on all the important issues. They are a talented, dedicated and hugely enthusiastic team and the paper and our incredibly popular website are in very safe hands. .. It has been a genuine pleasure and privilege to work with you all. So it is thank you and farewell from me. I look forward to watching Peterborough and the PT prosper together.
