Triple awards celebration for electronic components firm
A supplier of electronic components based in Wisbech has just won its third international accolade.
Anglia Components, which has its head office and distribution hub in Sandall Road, where it employs more than 120 people, has been named the European Regional Distributor of the Year 2021 for a leading UK manufacturer of high-performance connector components.
The award from Harwin is the third such award in a year for Anglia, which is ranked 34th out of Cambridgeshire’s
top 100 companies. Other suppliers recognising Anglia’s performance include
the US-based technology company Bourns and the European semiconductor giant
STMicroelectronics, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of silicon chips.
John Bowman, marketing director of Anglia, said: “Our relationship with Harwin is strong at every level of both organisations – and our ability to grow sales in a difficult market environment is testament to that.
“In partnership, we have overcome many challenges and maintained supplies to customers as far as possible.
Steve Miller, regional distribution manager at Harwin, said: “The shortage of semiconductor chips and other electronic components reached the national news in the UK in 2021.
“However, working together, Harwin and Anglia have managed to maintain supplies to UK customers, supporting sales growth.
He added: “Anglia is key both to us as a UK-based global company seeking to reach the UK market, and to its customers.
“These range from innovative start-ups to established businesses who need world class electronics technologies to deliver competitive products to global markets.
“Growing sales significantly is impressive in any year, but doubly so while the country was in the throes of a pandemic and spending part of the year in lockdown.
“This performance is a real testament not only to the quality of service and technical support offered by Anglia, but also to its willingness to adapt in the face of challenging circumstances.”
