Eight senior players have been told they can leave London Road this summer.

Playmaker Jorge Grant, goalkeeper Christy Pym, centre-back Mark Beevers and attacking midfielders Ryan Broom and Idris Kanu have all been made available for transfer.

And goalkeeper Dai Cornell and midfielders Serhat Tasdemir and Kyle Barker will not have their contracts renewed. Under 23 players Connor Peters, Kobe Chong and Ethan Bojang have also been released.

It’s understood Posh will expect fees for Grant and Broom, while they will be keen to get Beevers off the payroll. Grant only signed for Posh last summer after the club activated a release clause in his contract at Lincoln City.

Grant had been a polished performer for a talented Imps team, but the 27-yearold proved a major disappointment at Posh, starting 21 games and scoring twice without ever threatening to make a major impact at Championship level.

Beevers started just 14 games this season, but only one since manager Grant McCann returned to Posh at the end of February.

Pym had a huge fall out with previous boss Darren Ferguson who banished him from the first-team squad and

eventually allowed him to join Stevenage on loan.

Pym (27) and Beevers (32) are contracted at London Road until the end of the 2023-24 season.

Kanu (22), who was signed by current boss McCann as a 16-year-old from Aldershot, finished the season on loan at Northampton Town, while Broom (25) spent the entire season on loan at League One side Plymouth Argyle.

Kanu started just 10 EFL games for Posh, scoring twice, and Broom was quickly deemed surplus to requirements following the arrival of Sammie Szmodics in August, 2020. Broom started just five League One matches in his first season with Posh. McCann has not ruled out changing his mind on Broom, but Plymouth are keen to keep him and insist the player wants to return.

Kanu and Broom are both under contract until the end of the 2022-23 season.

Cornell (31) only joined Posh last summer when signing a one-year deal after his release by Ipswich Town, with a one-year option which the club have decided against taking up.

Cornell started 30 Championship matches last season.

Tasdemir (21) has spent the season on loan at Barnet.

He made just one starting League appearance for Posh in three years.

Barker spent the season skippering the club’s U23 side. He started four EFL Trophy games for the club.
