Easy wins for Posh women, under 21s and under 18s
Posh Women avenged last season’s Northants County Cup Final defeat at the hands of Northampton Town in fine style.
Posh eased to a 3-0 semifinal win at the home of the Cobblers to continue their outstanding recent form in all competitions. Posh have now won five games in a row.
Goals from Jess Evans, Keir Perkins and Jess Driscoll booked Posh’s place in the
Northants Final for the third season in a row. They will play Northampton Town’s Development squad in the final.
Posh are back in National Division One Midlands action tonight (Thursday) at Lincoln City before hosting Leek Town in another league game at Bourne Town FC on Sunday (2pm Kick off ).
UNDER 21s
January signing Kabongo
Tshimanga scored his first Posh goal in a 5-0 Professional Development Under 21 League romp at Birmingham City.
Tshimanga completed the scoring from the penalty spot late in the contest.
Forward Kai Corbett was the star of the showing scoring twice and hitting the crossbar twice direct from set-pieces.
Corbett also created the opening goal for centre-back Charlie O’Connell with Tshimanga setting up Joel Randall for the other Posh goal.
Posh recalled O’Connell and left-back Aaron Powell from loan spells at Woking and Welling respectively ahead of the game.
"Charlie wasn’t playing for Woking so we brought him back,” Posh first-team manager Darren Ferguson said. “And Aaron did very well at
Welling, but I need to have a look at him.”
Powell has been tipped to break into the Posh first team squad next season.
UNDER 18s
Posh have won through to the final of the Northants FA’s David Joyce Under 18 Cup.
First-half goals from Josh Marcon and Tyler Winters secured a 2-0 semi-final win at ON Chenecks.
Posh will play Daventry Town in the final.
Posh have been in great form at this level in recent weeks.
They also beat Sheffield Wednesday in a Professional Development Under 18 League game at the weekend.
The 3-0 win was a fifth success on the spin for Posh and was sealed by goals from Harry Titchmarsh, James Donnelly and Torin Ntege.
