Under 15s shock leaders, and unbeaten under 12s

Peterborou­gh RUFC under 18 Colts kept up their unbeaten streak for 2023 with a 45-17 victory at Rushden.

Jakub Balcerzak claimed two tries, with one each for Norbert Zastawnik, Gracjan Kujawa, Jack Grundy, Joseph Amos and Tom Payne, while Harry Anderson kicked five conversion­s.

Theunder15­boysshocke­d East Midland league leaders Northampto­n Old Scouts by beating them 43-37.

Noah Hendry and Dan Hutton scored two tries apiece, with Ashton Fletcher and Thomas Willis also touching down, while Eddie Anderson kicked five conversion­s and a penalty.

The under 16 girls lost a 4117 lead away at Leicester Forest, but held on for a draw as the match ended as a 41-41 tie.

Abi Tuson scored a hat trick of tries with one each for

Rachel Balaam, Rose Smith and Sian Louw.

And while the city side only scored six tries to Leicester's seven, it was Rose Smith's kicking that saved the day, with four conversion­s and a penalty as their hosts only managed three conversion­s.

Back at Fortress Fengate, the club staged one of the biggest girls' rugby tournament­s for under 14s and under 12s in the northern hemisphere.

The Borough under 14s finished fourth out of the eight teams in their age group, which was won by Welwyn, while the under 12s maintained their unbelievab­le record of being unbeaten all season, but shared the trophy with Welwyn after the final ended as a draw.

The under13 boys went top of the A1 Corridor League with a 40-10 away win over Huntingdon in which prolific Harry Bennett scored a hat trick of tries.

There were also tries for Jonty Anderson, Ryan Bronkhurst, George Haslope,

Cody Igoe and Dexter Johnson.

BOROUGH WOMEN

Unbeaten Borough Women need a point to clinch a Midlands League title after a 63-5 win over St Neots last weekend.

The city side ran in 10 tries with Cody Youngman and Maddy Buckland scoring two apiece.

Buckland also landed four conversion­s.

Youngman was named player-of-the-match. Forward of the match was Jess Robinson and back of the match was Liv Smith.
