The Posh young guns enjoyed a spectacular night at the EFL Awards ceremony by picking up two major League One prizes.

Posh captain, and two-goal Wembley hero, Harrison Burrows (22) was named playerof-the-year, while Ronnie Edwards (21) picked up the young player-of-the-year award.

Burrows, a left-back with 12 goals to his name this season, was also selected for the team-of-the-year along side Posh power forward Ephron Mason-Clark (24).

Darren Ferguson did miss out on the League One manager-of-the-year prize which went to John Mousinho of Portsmouth, but he was proud of his club’s achievements.

"It just shows what a great season we are having,” Ferguson said. “We have won a cup, we are fourth in the league and we have won two major individual awards.

"If we do end up winning promotion this season on top of what has already happened it would be one of the best seasons in the club’s history.

"We should all be very proud of Harrison, Ronnie and Ephron, but although they deserve their individual accolades, it’s also testament to how well the entire squad has done.”

The EFL awards were presented at the Grosvenor Park Hotel in London on Sunday evening.

Burrows said: "it's a great honour to win an award. It’s been a great few weeks with winning at Wembley and now this and I thank my parents and everyone at the club for helping me.

"Let's hope the season gets even better with a promotion.”

Edwards said: “I’m very grateful for the award. It’s been a long and tough season, but a successful one, and this adds to it for me.

"We now want to top it off with a promotion.”
