Titles for Thorpe Wood and Netherton

Thorpe Wood Rangers clinched the Under 14 Division Three title in the Junior Alliance League with a fivestar display against Holbeach in their final outing.

Jack Wild hit a hat-trick for the city side with Abas Jalo and Fio Sgroi also on target in a 5-0 win.

The Under 12 Division Three title is still in the balance as two of the contenders, Orton Rangers and Thorpe Wood Rangers, fought out a final game 0-0 draw.

That leaves Orton top and Thorpe Wood in fourth, but Stamford will pinch the title if they win their last game against mid-table Stanground.

Many league games and the Under 13 League Cup and Hereward Cup Finals were postponed because of waterlogged pitches on Sunday.

The younger age groups managed to play some finals at Whittlesey Juniors FC on Saturday with over 200 people watching Thorney pip Nene Valley on penalties in the Under 9 League Cup Final.

There are a host of Junior Alliance Finals scheduled for May 12 at the same venue.

Under 10 Hereward Cup: Netherton United Red 1 (Jayden Todd-Stockwell), Holbeach Utd Black 0. Player-of-the-match: Ruairi McCloskey.

YOUTH LEAGUE

Netherton United Blacks have clinched the Under 16 Division One title in the Peterborough Youth League with four games to spare.

And that was despite their weekend fixture at Nene Valley falling foul of the weather. A 3-2 defeat for sole rivals Bourne at Wisbech St Mary means the city side cannot be caught at the top.

In the Under 18 Division Liam Ebbles scored a hattrick as Stanground Sports won 6-4 at RTC.
