Bus fare cuts round corner?
SIR, – For years, FirstBus has cited rising fuel costs and lack of public subsidies to justify charging Aberdonians the highest bus fares in the UK.
In April they will be launching a fleet of buses that run on cheap hydrogen and have been entirely subsidised by taxpayers, so it would seem logical for citizens to expect significant price cuts on all tickets for these buses.
It will be interesting to find out if First's continuous price hikes have been genuinely necessary or a load of hot air. Scott Graham, Fernielea Crescent, Aberdeen.
