Manager Hughes hoping to keep squad intact

-

“It is good news and we are hoping that he will be back in a month to six weeks.

“The League Cup semifinal is in his head.

“I don’t think it is a worse- case scenario, so fingers crossed.

“We still have to let the injury settle down.

“Hewill get another scan in another couple of weeks and the surgeon will then decide if he is to get going with his rehabilitation.

“If that is the case then there will be no holding him back.

“If he needs to get an op- eration once it is all settled down then so be it.”

Inverness head to Motherwell tomorrow without Foran and the suspended Ross Draper.

There is still no return date in sight for long-term injury victim James Vincent, but Hughes is pessimistic about his chances of making additions in January.

Keeping the Caley Thistle squad intact, with Marley Watkins linked with a move to Hibs and Billy McKay still on the radar of several English championship clubs, is the priority for Hughes. He added: “I very muchdoubt I will be able to do anything in January. If I am going to do any kind of work I want to try to keep everybody here at the club.

“Hopefully, they will do that and follow suit as Richie and Ryan Esson did in signing new deals.

“We will do everything we can to keep Billy.

“People come to play at Inverness as it is a well run club which looks after its players. Whatever happens in the window happens, we will deal with it, everything is speculation just now.”
