Clan at the Castle event

-

A cancer charity is launching a new event to raise cash this autumn.

Clan will host Clan at the Castle at Crathes Castle on September 10.

The historic castle near Banchory will provide the picturesque backdrop for three sponsored walks, and there will also be some inflatable fun, entertainment and refreshments.

Participants can choose from a single mile, five mile or 13 mile walk through the grounds.

Steph Dowling, fundraising team member, said: “We wanted to create a day with something for everyone, whether you are taking part as an individual, families and groups or corporate teams.”

The fun day will run between 10am and 4pm, wristbands being available for a charge of £5 or from the website. Officers are investigating an intentional fire at an Aberdeen bowling club.

The Bridge of Don Community Policing Team has appealed for information following the blaze at Grandholm Bowling Club yesterday morning.

The emergency services were called to the scene of the incident at Grandholm Drive about 7.10am.

The toilet area of the building was significantly damaged.

It has been targeted by fire raisers no less than four times since the end of November.
