Gardening Notes

Have you pruned your Clematis montana yet? If not, it is time you did, together with others in the spring flowering category like C. alpina and C. macropetala and all their derivatives.

I should also include in this group Clematis armandii, the evergreen winter flowering species and in particular the variety Apple Blossom with which I am familiar because I grew it when working in the south of England.
