Police appeal to catch mugger

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was mugged in the centre of Aberdeen.

The 26-year-old victim was attacked and robbed of his belongings on Union Street near to its junction with Diamond Street.

The man was punched and kicked during the incident, which happened at around 4.20am on Friday.

The attacker is described as being white, aged in his 20s or 30s, of stocky build and with dark blond short hair which was shaved at the sides.

He was wearing a black Superdry jacket with green writing on it, grey trousers and black and white trainers.

Detective Inspector, David Howieson, said: “The victim was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment and thankfully has not been seriously injured.”
