Lossie continue hunt for MacRae’s successor

-

MANAGER Lossiemouth are trying to find a replacement for manager Iain MacRae who left earlier this month.

Coasters secretary Alan McIntosh confirmed yesterday that the club nearly signed a replacement last week, believed to be veteran Forres Mechanics defender Graeme Grant, but the move fell through.

McIntosh said: “We came close to appointing a couple of local guys with a great Highland League pedigree but in the end they just didn’t fancy it enough.

“I don’t really know where we go from here so l’m going to take stock of the situation this week.

“To be honest everything really is up in the air.

“We thought it was a done deal last week but one of them wouldn’t come without the other then one of them got a better offer so that was that.”

“I don’t know where we go fromhere. I’m taking stock this week”

Looking ahead to the pre-season build-up, McIntosh added: “For the moment, until anything changes, the two lads, manager Ian Campbell and coach Joe Russell who run our Under-20 side which is sitting second top in the North of Scotland league, will take the side.

“They were wanting someone with more experience to come in and help them out but until we get someone else on board Iain and Joe will be taking the team.”
