Defender Reynolds goes for knee scan

-

Aberdeen’s defensive woes deepened yesterday after Mark Reynolds was sent for a scan on the knee injury which curtailed his involvement in Sunday’s friendly at Cove Rangers.

The defender limped off after just 12 minutes in the match to officially open the new home of the Highland League champions with the game later abandoned following an injury to Cove midfielder, former Don Jordon Brown.

The Dons hope the injury to Reynolds is not serious but are taking no risks with the 31-yearold with the start of the new campaign only days away.

With Mikey Devlin missing Sunday’s game due to a groin injury, Reynolds’s issue leaves Dons boss Derek McInnes with just three fit first-team defenders across his back four in Shay Logan, Scott McKenna and Andy Considine with the Europa League second qualifying round against Burnley nine days away.
