Fine and ban for drink driver

A drink-driver who mounted the pavement and crashed into a parked vehicle has been banned from the road for 18 months.

Michael Bone had 58mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath when he was stopped by police on Ashgrove Road in Alford on June 26 – more than double the legal limit.

Officers found a bottle of whisky in the front passenger side of the car the 56-year-old had been driving, and noted he was slurring his speech.

At Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday Bone, of Glenclova Cottages, Lumsden, was fined £500 and disqualifi­ed from holding, or obtaining a driver’s licence for the next 18 months.
