Robbery attempt witness appeal

-

A 47-year-old man has been charged with an attempted robbery in the city.

Detectives were called to the post office on Sclattie Park just before 1pm on Wednesday.

Andrew Bowyer was charged with attempted robbery and for having a “blade or point” in public.

He appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday, but made no plea and was remanded in custody.

A 31-year-old man had also been arrested, but was released without charge.

Detective Inspector Stewart Drummond said: “We are still keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time.

“In particular, two men were at the shops at Sclattie Park and would have been aware of the incident happening.

“These two witnesses could have important information and I urge them to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police quoting reference 1622 of July 18.
