Special night in tribute to tragic lead singer Scott

- BY KIRSTEN ROBERTSON

A charity concert in memory of Frightened Rabbit singer Scott Hutchison will be held in Aberdeen this week.

A number of local bands will play covers of the indie band’s songs in memory of Scott, who was found dead just a day after being reported missing.

Hosted by STV presenter Chris Harvey, the tribute to his music will take place in the Tunnels on Friday.

All funds raised will go to the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH).

The concert was organised by Stuart Duncan, from Stonehaven.

He said: “I felt Scott really lived through his music and I hope the gig is everything everyone wants it to be.

“Scott would be out at local music events and, as Frightened Rabbit got bigger, he always remembered Aberdeen. Just last year, Scott played the True North festival as a solo act.

“After I heard about Scott’s death I decided to arrange this tribute so people in Aberdeen had a place to all pay their respects to Scott’s memory and let his music live on.

“I contacted bands that I knew and it just grew from that.”
