City sets pace with work on full fibre broadband
Technology: Project for faster connections will bring economic spin-offs
Aberdeen businesses came a step closer to accessing next-generation full fibre connectivity yesterday as CityFibre started construction work to extend its infrastructure throughout the city.
This latest phase of development represents a £40 million private investment from CityFibre as part of its strategic partnership with Vodafone to deliver full fibre connectivity to one million UK homes and businesses by 2021.

Scottish fish landings have surged by 100,000 tonnes in just 10 years. Official figures show a 25% rise in landings of white-fish, pelagic and shellfish, from 369,900 tonnes in 2007 to 463,900 tonnes in 2017.
