Treetops hotel changes hands

- BY KEITH FINDLAY

The DoubleTree by Hilton Aberdeen Treetops hotel has changed hands for an undisclosed sum.

Property group JLL said yesterday it had advised Oaktree Capital Management on the sale to 7 Hospitality.

It is business as usual at the 120-bedroom hotel, on the city’s Springfield Road.

JLL hotels and hospitality director Kerr Young said: “This sale represents the fifth successful transaction in Aberdeen over the course of the past 12 months that we have advised on and further supports the positive sentiment from investors towards the Aberdeen hotel market”.

Edinburgh-registered 7 Hospitality now owns two DoubleTree by Hilton hotels in Scotland

Mohan Mulani, managing director, of 7 Hospitality, said: “We have appointed Richard Ellison from 7 Hospitality Management to manage our two DoubleTree by Hilton hotels in Dundee and now Aberdeen.”
