Updated Mazda 6’s refined return

-

Mazda has announced UK pricing for its updated Mazda 6 saloon and tourer models.

Priced from £23,195, it now features a range of upgrades to both its looks and specification.

The combined saloon and tourer range features 25 different models across four trim grades.

A new 2.5-litre fourcylinder petrol engine has also been introduced into the range, while cylinder deactivation technology means it can deliver excellent economy figures without harming performance. It is linked to a six-speed automatic gearbox in both saloon and tourer bodystyles.

The exterior of the car has been freshened up with the addition of a new grille, along with redesigned LED headlamps and a refreshed lower bumper.

In addition, a new alloy wheel design has been introduced, along with Soul Red metallic paint.

Jeremy Thomson, managing director of Mazda Motors UK, said: “With new powertrain technology, fresh premium design details inside and out, revised model grades and more standard technology, the new Mazda 6 is a thoroughly re-engineered and refined update of our stylish flagship.”

The interior of the car has been updated for 2018.

A larger, eight-inch central display screen has been fitted, while new dashboard and door trims have been introduced.

Mazda has also revised the 6’s suspension in order to provide better comfort without diminishing driver enjoyment. The bump stop characteristics have been refined, while the front dampers have increased in diameter. Along with the introduction of rebound springs, it all helps deliver a smoother, more relaxing ride.

New vibration-absorbing material has been added to the centre tunnel and roof lining.

Rear wheel housing noise insulation panels have also been fitted to help reduce the amount of aural intrusion into the cabin.

The new Mazda 6 saloon and tourer models are on sale now.
