Staggies suspend member of staff

The Press and Journal (Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire) - - NEWS -

A member of staff at one of the north’s most successful football clubs is at the centre of a police investigation into indecent communications.

Ross County has suspended an employee following a complaint which is being investigated by police.

The Scottish Championship club, which has previously played in the top flight, yesterday posted a statement online which read: “We can confirm that a member of staff has been suspended from work as a result of a complaint being received.

“The matter was referred to the police and therefore it would be inappropriate to make any further comment at this time.”

At this stage it is understood that the member of staff has not been arrested or charged with any offence and the investigation is ongoing.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Police Scotland can confirm it has received a report and inquiries are ongoing. As such, it would be inappropriate to comment further.”
