Fresh CCTV images in Wayne hunt
Missing: Appeal as big search goes on
Police are scouring vast tracts of land in Moray as they release new CCTV images of missing Aberdeen man Wayne MacMillan.
The 45-year-old was last seen departing the number 10 Stagecoach service at around 1pm on Saturday September 8 near Brodie Countryfare, at the bus stop about 200 yards east of the store on the A96.
He is believed to have been travelling between Inverness and Aberdeen during that week but has not been seen or heard from since.
Concerned friends had reported him missing on Friday September 7 after failing to hear from him.
When last seen he was wearing a black T-shirt and black trousers or dark-blue jeans.
A significant search operation is currently under way by police with a number of specialist search officers working in collaboration with Police Scotland’s Dog unit carrying out intensive searches of a vast area of land surrounding the bus stop.
Meanwhile, officers are urging members of the public who regularly walk in the area, including dog walkers, horse riders and tourists, to keep an eye out for any sign of activity in case he has been sleeping outdoors.
Detective Inspector Allen Shaw said: “A significant period of time has now passed without Wayne being in touch with anyone. We know that he got off the No.10 bus service at Brodie on September 8 and we would like to speak to passengers who were on the bus at the time who remember seeing him. Wayne has distinctive features that might have stuck in people’s mind.
“He is described as being around 6ft, has a tattoo of a face on the rear of his head, has a stud piercing under his bottom lip and both his ear lobes are stretched. Did he speak to anyone?
“I urge anyone with information to please get in touch by contacting 101.”
