Event: How you can join in

-

A major event to raise awareness of the struggles of homeless people and make cash to combat the problem takes place in four Scottish cities this December.

The Sleep In

The Park project, launched by the homelessness café organisation Social Bite, drew 8,000 people last year for the world’s largest sleep-out in Edinburgh’s Princes Street Gardens.

It raised £4 million for charities that support the homeless.

This year the even larger campaign takes in Glasgow, Dundee and Aberdeen.

Organisers expect a record-breaking 12,000 people to take part on December 8.

Famous “buskers” Amy Macdonald and KT Tunstall will fly between the cities to perform in each during the night.

Aberdeen’s sleepout will be in Duthie Park, Dundee’s in Slessor Gardens, and Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Park.

In the Granite City, other performers are Eddi Reader, Kris Drever and Adam Holmes and The Embers.

Dundee’s line-up includes Kyle Falconer, Withered Hand and others.
