Night staff ‘one in nine employees’

The number of people who work night shifts has increased by 151,000 to more than three million in the past few years, new research suggests.

The TUC said night workers now account for one in nine employees across Britain following the increase since 2013.

Women made up two-thirds of the rise amid growing employment in the health and social care sector, the union said.
