Road to shut for bypass works

Bypass contractors are shutting a north-east road for the next two weeks for resurfacing works.

The stretch linking Burnhead with Dalfogart Lodge in Maryculter was closed at midnight and will re-open at 11.59pm tomorrow. A similar closure has been scheduled for next week.

Diversions will be signposted with Transport Scotland recommending motorists take South Deeside Road before passing through Hillside and Lochton and arriving on the Nigg Road.

A spokesman said: “We would like to encourage those drivers who would consider using this route to plan their journey in advance.

“We also ask road users to observe all signage and to drive carefully while these works are ongoing to ensure their safety, the safety of other road users and of road workers.”
