Formartine going for nine unbeaten as Huntly check in
Paul Lawson hopes Formartine United can take confidence from their unbeaten run into today’s home game with Huntly.
United stretched their unbeaten sequence to eight games by beating Cove Rangers 4-2 in the Aberdeenshire Shield on Wednesday.
Victory at North Lodge Park today could lift them up to fourth spot .
Lawson said: “The run we’ve been on has been excellent.
“Last Saturday against Lossiemouth was a good chance to get some other boys game time and the boys did well on Wednesday.
“There were a few sore legs so we’ll see how we go about things.”
Fraserburgh will consid- er making changes to their line-up for the Bellslea tussle with Fort William after their gruelling 2-0 extratime victory over Inverurie Locos on Wednesday.
Broch assistant-manager James Duthie said: “I can’t fault the players because playing the same team back-to-back is never easy so we’re delighted to have won twice.
“We’ll look at the team for Saturday after playing 120 minutes but the players know they still have to perform.
“Fort William is a great club and they are showing signs of coming out of the difficult period they have been through.”
Fort fought tooth and nail to secure a 3-3 home draw against Clachnacuddin midweek and manager Kris Anderson is expected to go with the same squad.
Turriff United will look to forget about Wednesday night’s 6-0 Aberdeenshire Shield defeat at Banks o’ Dee when they face Buckie Thistle at Victoria Park.
The Jags welcome back winger Allen MacKenzie, who missed the midweek Shield win over Keith due to work commitments, and full back Andrew Skinner, who has returned from holiday, while United manager Kris Hunter has a full squad at his disposal.
