Grammar hope for consistent run of wins

-

hopeful his club can make wins the norm at Rubislaw.

He said: “We’re playing during the autumn internationals which is certainly speeding things up this season but I’m enjoying the chance to play every week. Now all we need is to find some consistency.

“We’re at the midway point of the season and I look at some of the silly games we’ve lost like Selkirk away and at home to Cartha Queen’s Park. Had we won those games we would be close to the top two or three.

“It’s been frustrating as we know we’ve got the quality, it’s just a case of producing it on a regular basis. It feels as if it has been win, loss, win, loss recently and it would be nice to get a consistent run of wins going.”

Grammar face a tough task as they bid to record back-to-back wins when they face league leaders Jed-Forest at Riverside Park.

The Aberdeen side stunned their rivals as they ran rampant in a 6822 win at Rubislaw on the opening day of the league season and Ryan hopes his side can take confidence from their impressive showing when they travel to Jedburgh.

He said: “Jed-Forest will be a big ask. It’s a long trek down there but we put in a good performance against Dundee last weekend and hopefully it has given us something to build from.

“We’ve had some success down there in the past and we played brilliantly against them at our place on the opening day. They are not used to travelling like we are and I think we caught them off guard. I’m sure they will not have forgotten that result but we can go there with confidence and self-belief.”
