Deeside care staff ‘lacking passion’
A report has found that staff at a Deeside care home are “less caring” than they used to be with some showing a “lack of passion” and that there had been an increase in residents falling.
The Care Inspectorate paid an unannounced visit to Balhousie Care Group’s Alastrean Care Home in Tarland in September. In its report, the inspectorate said it had found an increase in the “number of falls” and that “these falls were not being managed in line with best practise”.
A deadline of December 31 has been set for the home to improve its policies for preventing and managing falls.
A Balhouse Care Group spokesman said: “Since the visit we have been fully committed to addressing and resolving the issues raised in it.”
