Judge orders return of press pass

-

A federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to return the White House press credentials of CNN reporter Jim Acosta.

US District Court Judge Timothy Kelly announced his decision after a hearing in Washington, saying Mr Acosta’s credentials would be returned immediately and reactivated to allow him access to the White House.

At last week’s press conference, which followed the midterm elections, Mr Trump was taking questions from reporters and tried to cut Mr Acosta off after objecting to a question about migrants heading for the US-Mexico border.

As he asked a further question a female aide tried to take the microphone.

Mr Trump called Acosta a “rude, terrible person” and hours later his White House credential were pulled.

The reason given was firstly that he had manhandled the aide, then later due to his lack of professionalism.
