SIR, – Now that a deal has been struck to leave Europe, Westminster MPs have little choice in an open vote in the full knowledge that the only alternative left now is No Deal.

The opposition parties and some Conservative backbenchers will see this as an opportunity of forcing Theresa May into calling a general election, but with our leaving date so near, it could well lead to a period of constitutional chaos as time is running out fast.
