Man, 24, ad­mits shop thefts

A man has ad­mit­ted a string of thefts from shops in a north-east town.

Ste­wart Ritchie stole cos­met­ics, al­co­hol and a bracelet from stores in Peter­head be­tween Novem­ber 19 and De­cem­ber 6.

The 24-year-old tar­geted Semichem and H Sa­muel on Drum­mers Cor­ner.

He also stole from Su­per­drug on Marischal Street and the Mor­risons su­per­mar­ket.

Ritchie also be­haved in a threat­en­ing and abu­sive man­ner by shout­ing and threat­en­ing Sergejs Make­jevs on Back Street, Peter­head on De­cem­ber 6.

He ap­peared at Peter­head Sher­iff Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to eight of­fences.

Ritchie, of no fixed abode, was bailed and will re­turn to court for sen­tenc­ing in Jan­uary.
