Sheran anticipates full shunt as Locos call in at Balmoral
Cove Rangers are expecting to be pushed all the way when Inverurie Locos make their first visit to Balmoral Stadium this afternoon.
Cove boss John Sheran said: “There are lots of guys on both sides who can score goals. They have Neil Gauld while we have Mitchel Megginson, but other players such as Locos’ Chris An- gus and on our side, Jordon Brown and Daniel Park, are also more than capable of finding the back of the net.
“It should be an interesting afternoon.”
Locos manager Neil Cooper is also expecting a tough test.
He said: “Cove are top of the league so this will be the hardest test we can get.
“We know that we can’t afford a poor performance or have any lack of concen- tration as they will punish us. But on the other hand, we also have players who can punish them.
“This will be my first visit to Cove’s new ground so we’re also looking forward to that, although we are still without striker Jonny Smith and attacking midfielder Colin Charlesworth through injury.
“Our captain Neil McLean has just signed a new 12-month contract which has given us all a huge lift.
“He’s been different class since I came to the club.”
Fraserburgh face fullstrength Deveronvale at Bellslea without injured midfielders Michael Rae and Willie West.
Broch skipper Ryan Christie underwent a knee operation earlier this week, while striker Gary Harris will have his cruciate operation later this month.
