Two readers in the money in giveaway

- BY DANIEL BOAL

Two lucky Press and Journal readers have won £250 each in our £3,000 giveaway.

Cash prizes are available to readers across the circulation area this week, with each paper bearing the name of a community.

One name out of the hundreds of places to which we deliver the Press and Journal all year around will be chosen each day.

Monday’s towns were Beauly and Ellon and the winners received the prize phone call early yesterday.

Ellon’s winner Sylvia Barron was “shocked” when she received the call, as she’d no knowledge of being entered into the competition.

Mrs Barron said: “My husband Alastair put my name into the competition, so it was quite the surprise when I received the phone call.

“He and I have been getting the paper delivered to our door every day since we were married back in 1975.”

The 64-year-old has said she and her husband are now debating as to who is the true recipient of the winnings.

Yesterday’s second winner was 67-year-old Morag Delaney from Forres, who has been a loyal reader of the Press and Journal for the past 43 years.

Mrs Delaney said: “Who wouldn’t want a phone call like that. It was a very pleasant surprise.”

When asked how she would use her winnings, Mrs Delaney replied: “I think I will use them to spoil my beautiful granddaughter Molly, who is turning three in November.”

To be in with a chance of winning a cash prize yourself, all you have to do is register the place name on your paper and a unique code online.

The Press and Journal will announce two winning place names in the following day’s paper.

If your place name matches, you could win £250.
