SBC continues expansion
Serviced offices: Demand strong despite challenging economic conditions
Skene Business Centres (SBC) is today celebrating a landmark anniversary by revealing £1 million-plus expansion plans.
The family-owned firm, which already operates prime serviced office accommodation at 7 Queen’s Gardens, 23 Rubislaw Den North and 96 Rosemount Viaduct in Aberdeen, is in its 35th year.
Following the addition of 3,580sq ft at 2 Queen’s Gardens to the portfolio last year, the company now plans to further grow the total space available on the back of it acquiring 3 Queen’s Gardens.
The new space will add another 2,811sq ft to the growing portfolio.
It will house up to 50 desks, two kitchens, meeting facilities and a shower room.
Additional free car parking will be provided for the development, which is expected to open next year.
SBC’s latest investment will bring the total amount of space offered by the firm on Queen’s Gardens to 16,024sq ft. The company’s serviced accommodation clients are from a range of business sectors, including oil and gas, financial and professional services, and health and medical consultants.
They include local start-ups and established international firms, some of which have been using the business centres for more than a decade.
SBC is among the businesses owned by Charles Skene and his family.
Mr Skene said: “Despite the challenging economic conditions in Aberdeen, our continued expansion reflects the ongoing demand for our business centres.
“Clients like the flexibility we offer, the wide range of services we provide and the excellent service we give.”
Among the options on offer are fully furnished and equipped serviced offices, ranging from 1 to 12 desks, and virtual offices, which allow businesses to be operational within 24 hours.
