Record project tally for firm
Johnston Carmichael (JC) said yesterday its five-strong team of construction and property tax relief experts advised on a record £290 million of commercial projects in the year to May.
The Aberdeen-based accountancy and business advice firm launched its construction and property incentives arm in 2013 to give strategic advice on capital allowances in the built environment.
Projects involving the division during 2018-19 included the Radisson RED Hotel in Glasgow, Glenrinnes organic gin

and vodka distillery, near Glenlivet, in Moray, and a large industrial portfolio on behalf of a Londonbased property fund.
The team, which is led by Michael Murray and Robert Winters, has advised on projects totalling £1.6 billion since its inception.
Office projects accounted for £70m of the 2018-19 total, followed by industrial at £46m and hotels at £45m.
