The Press and Journal (Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire) - - FARMING FARMING WEATHER -

The deadline is fast approaching to enter the AgriScot Scotch Beef Farm of the Year and the AgriScot Scottish Sheep Farm of the Year awards.

Both awards, sponsored by Thorntons Solicitors and supported by Quality Meat Scotland, set out to find and reward Scottish farms which exemplify the best in beef cattle and sheep production.

Inaugural winner of the sheep award, Joyce Campbell of Armadale Farm in Sutherland, encouraged all farmers to take time to fill out the application and help promote the industry to the wider public.

“It’s more than just an award,” said Ms Campbell.

“It’s an opportunity to positively promote our world-class red meat industry and, importantly, the farmers who take real pride in producing Scotch Beef and Lamb.

“I strongly encourage any farmer who is undecided about whether or not to apply to just do it.”

To apply for either award contact Laura Strang on 0131 40510 7920 or email [email protected]scotland.co.uk.

The deadline is Monday.
