Virtual reality of world at work

The Press and Journal (Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire) - - NEWS -

Pupils across Aberdeen are being invited to an event where they can get a realistic insight into the world of work through virtual reality.

Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is hosting a show which will take place at Aberdeen’s P&J Live arena on Monday November 11 and Tuesday November 12.

Youngsters in their senior years of secondary school will also be able to meet employers, training providers, colleges, universities and professional bodies.

The free event aims to inform prospective school-leavers of the opportunities available to them, whether it be apprenticeships, higher education or work.

There will also be sessions for parents, carers and teachers in the early evening where they can find out how they can support the teenagers in the next stage of their journey.

SDS director of career information and guidance operations James Russell said: “We help people to make the choices that are right for them.”
