Glen are looking to keep co-bosses on board

-

Glen Urquhart are keen to retain the services of co-managers Stuart Mackintosh and Eddie Tembo, after the club finished third in the National Division, only three points off a return to the Mowi Premiership.

With their fixtures completed, Glen travelled yesterday for a social weekend in County Cork, including a match against Bandon.

Mackintosh said: “We haven’t really thought about it. Nothing has been finalised but Eddie and I will still be there or thereabouts.”

Former Kinlochshiel attacker Oliver MacRae, whose family has strong New Zealand connections, is at the Rugby World Cup in Japan, and misses Glasgow Mid Argyll’s Mod Cup match against Bute at Glasgow Green.

Craig Anderson, who had five stitches inserted in his shin following last weekend’s promotionclinching win against Skye at Portree, is a doubt for Mid Argyll, who can focus on planning for the Premiership once this game is past.

The North First Division title race is a thriller with Glengarry, who have one game remaining, nine points ahead of Newtonmore, who have six games to play.

Newtonmore, who lost at Glengarry last weekend, head for Aberdeen University tomorrow, while Glen’s final outing is at Newtonmore, which seems to be being held back as a title decider.

Aberdour have run away with the South First Division title but Ballachulish can finish runners-up, leapfrogging Tayforth, if they beat Lochside Rovers at Jubilee Park.
