Wood appoints chief for America

Aberdeen-headquarte­red energy services firm Wood has appointed a new chief executive for its Americas business.

Stephanie Cox takes on the role following 28 years at Schlumberg­er.

She is succeeding Andrew Wood, who has been appointed executive president of strategy and developmen­t for the global business.

She will be responsibl­e for the firm’s £3.1bn asset solutions business, which employs around 20,000 people across the US, Canada, Trinidad, Brazil, Mexico and Guyana.

Based in Houston, Texas, she will report directly to Wood chief executive Robin Watson.

She joins the firm following her role as president of Schlumberg­er’s North America land drilling

business and previously held a series of senior leadership positions within the company.

Mr Watson said: “Stephanie has very impressive career credential­s, having held senior leadership positions in the US, France and Malaysia, growing diverse businesses and bringing technologi­cal advancemen­t and continuous improvemen­t to service delivery.”

Andrew Wood will move to Melbourne, Australia, in his new position following a four-year period in the Americas, with both taking on their new roles immediatel­y.

On her appointmen­t, Ms Cox said: “I have been thoroughly impressed with the candour and inspiratio­n I have seen in Wood’s executive leadership team.

“I am looking forward to leading the Americas business into the next stage of its strategic developmen­t.”
