Fundrais­ing tar­get ex­tended

Two oil and gas ser­vices firms have had to up their char­ity fundrais­ing tar­get af­ter smash­ing their ini­tial goal.

Staff work­ing for Team En­ergy and In­ter­moor in Aberdeen – both part of the same par­ent com­pany – had set out to raise £15,000 for Macmil­lan Cancer Sup­port this year.

But they have now set their sights on £20,000 af­ter al­ready rais­ing more than £17,000.

The kind-hearted group hopes to make up the rest by host­ing a fes­tive af­ter­noon tea on Satur­day Novem­ber 9, at Ha­zle­head Park cafe.

So far, 80 peo­ple are ex­pected to at­tend with a num­ber of pop-up stalls selling cloth­ing and home­wares.

Staff have al­ready taken on the Beach Bal­lis­tic chal­lenge, Great Aberdeen Run and Crathes half­marathon to raise money.

They also or­gan­ised a quiz night and yoga day.

Ni­cole Kennedy from Team En­ergy said: “We have or­gan­ised var­i­ous events and com­peted in a num­ber of chal­lenges through­out the year to raise as much money as pos­si­ble for the amaz­ing work that Macmil­lan do sup­port­ing cancer suf­fer­ers, their fam­i­lies, friends and col­leagues.”
