Revellers to rock around Christmas tree for charity

The Press and Journal (Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire) - - NEWS -

A festive silent disco tour is coming to Aberdeen as part of this year’s winter festival.

Organisers Aberdeen Inspired have teamed up with Friends of Anchor to introduce new elements to the Christmas village and raise money for the Anchored Together appeal.

Now revellers are being encouraged to rock around the Christmas tree, but with a twist, when the village opens on November 21.

Led by a tour guide, visitors will wear headsets playing festive favourites to dance their way around the Christmas village and Marischal College Quad.

Adrian Watson, chief executive of Aberdeen Inspired, said: “This is the first time a silent disco has been introduced and we are sure it will be hugely popular. It will certainly be a unique way to get into the seasonal spirit and we can’t wait to see people taking part.”

Jim Milne, chairman of cancer charity Friends of Anchor, said: “With the disco tours happening every weekend, we hope lots of you will join us.”
