Grit­ters ready to roll af­ter nam­ing con­test

Aberdeen pri­mary chil­dren have named the city’s 10 main road grit­ters – with the win­ning en­tries in­clud­ing Sandy Spit­ter the

Big Grit­ter and The Gritest Show­man.

The oth­ers are Gran­ite Grit­ter, Gritz’ n’ Blitz, Snow­dog, Grit-mas, Spreadie Ed­die, Snow Wor­ries, Glit­ter Grit­ter and The Grit­talo. Chil­dren from Cults, Corn­hill, Dane­stone, Kings­ford, Cul­ter, Quar­ry­hill, Loirston, Mill­tim­ber, Brae­head and Seaton pri­maries took part.

Plus, pave­ment grit­ters were named Light­ning GritQueen (Corn­hill), Derek McGrit­tas (Glashiebur­n), Gritty Gritty Ice Bang (Fore­hill), Snow­buster (Countess­wells), Gritty Gritty Bang Bang (Broomhill), Gil­bert (Kirkhill), Salty (St Peter’s) and The Griti­na­tor (Kings­ford).

Fernielea chose Chilly Miller, while Ab­botswell se­lected Grit­ney Spears.
