Fes­tive event plans

Aberdeen coun­cil bosses have re­vealed the dates for fes­tive events in the city.

The coun­cil and Aberdeen In­spired will open the Christ­mas Vil­lage on Broad Street and Up­perkirk­gate on Novem­ber 21. A switch-on cer­e­mony for the Christ­mas tree will take place the same day.

On Hog­manay, there will be cel­e­bra­tions fea­tur­ing live mu­sic from One Night of Queen by Gary Mullen and The Works on School­hill, with fire­works from His Majesty’s The­atre’s rooftop.

Cul­ture spokes­woman coun­cil­lor Marie Boul­ton said: “Christ­mas in Aberdeen is shap­ing up to be a truly mag­i­cal time of year, with an out­stand­ing events line-up that is big­ger and bet­ter than ever.”
