Chance to live in historic north-east mansion

- BY KIRSTEN ROBERTSON

Part of a historic Inverurie mansion has been put on the market.

Keith Hall – surrounded by 26 acres of landscaped gardens – was once owned by the Earls of Kintore and the Latin poet Arthur Johnson.

N o w, r e a l e s t a t e company Savills has put a three-bedroom flat on the market, welcoming any offers above £295,000.

The grade A-listed building has been described as a “stunning” example of Renaissance-inspired architecture.

The listing on Savills’ website states: “Apartment Six is delightful and the configuration and circulation space almost feels like a house rather than an apartment.

“Most of the rooms enjoy a good degree of natural light and in turn fantastic views from within this magnificent building.”

In 1984 the mansion was converted to form eight flats and six houses.

The building forms part of the original tower at the site, called Caskieben Castle. It has a rich history, and was believed to have been built by the Laird of Caskieben.
