Charges include assault and theft
An Aberdeen man appeared in private in the city’s sheriff court after alleged break-ins and thefts in a north-east town.
Darren Warchol, 29, was arrested after incidents in Ellon on Monday night.
Police were investigating incidents at furniture store Frasers of Ellon in the town’s Ythan Terrace and at the Ashvale Fish Restaurant in The Square.
Warchol is accused of assault with intent to rob, assault, and being in or on a building with intent to commit theft.
He also appeared charged with housebreaking with intent to steal, theft by housebreaking and resisting, obstructing or hindering police.
He made no plea and was remanded in custody.
The case was committed for further examination and he will appear again before a sheriff in the next seven days.
